Jurek Becker

Jurek Becker (September 30, 1937, Łódź, Poland - March 14, 1997, Sieseby, Schleswig-Holstein) was a Polish-born German writer. His most famous novel is Jacob the Liar, which has been made into two films. He lived in Lodz for about two years and survived the 'ghetto'.
