JURIST is an online legal news service hosted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, edited by founder Professor Bernard Hibbitts, Executive Director Jeannie Shawl, and a staff of more than 40 law students working in Pittsburgh and other US locations. It features continuously-updated US and international legal news researched in real time, expert commentary, key primary documents and video.[1] The daily current events portion of the site is called "Paper Chase".[2] JURIST it celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2007 with a major conference in Pittsburgh. [3]

In March 2008 JURIST was nominated for a Webby Award as best Law website. The site won the Webby People's Voice Award in 2006. Other distinctions and awards include recognition by the ABA Journal in its 2008 Top 100 list of "the best Web sites by lawyers, for lawyers" and the 2006 W3 Gold Award in the Law and Legal Services category.

JURIST is provided as a public service and is completely non-commercial.
