[edit] Helpalot recommended for speedy deletion
Hi. I've suggested the article you created Helpalot for because it does not assert why it is important. See the big box at the top of the article page for what you can do if you disagree. --Siobhan Hansa 12:37, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've deleted the article. Sorry, it seems like a noble enterprise, but not notable enough to have an article, see WP:CSD. We can't include promotions of non-notable sites and organizations no matter how worthy. It you think you can prove notablibily, which would basically involve news stories etc. about the site in mainstream media, message me. Herostratus 12:54, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes it may be true that the value of the article was non-zero. That is not our criteria, though. If it was, we would have articles on practically every website. We are not a web directory and we only keep articles on sites (and books, and bands, and so forth) that meet a minimum criteria of notability. Otherwise we would be swamped with artices on websites (and bands, etc.) Many, many people want to get their website (or band, etc.) into the Wikipedia in order to promote it. But we are not here to aid the promotion of anything. WP:WEB lists our criteria for inclusion of web sites. Helpalot appears to still be under development, the two cites you gave are not sufficent to establish notability. Sorry. If you want I can restore the article and send it to WP:AFD, but the chance that it would survive, which would basically require a majority of editors to conclude that the article meets WP:WEB, is infinitesimal. This is nothing against you or against Helpalot. Herostratus 16:08, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Helpalot v06 color.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Helpalot v06 color.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
