[edit] March 14 2007

68.145.238.47 deleted the external links; I restored them as they seem relevant to me, but I certainly could be unaware of something amiss in this area. Shoud 68.145.238.47 or anyone care to look at them, and provide a reason for deleting, that would be helpful.JeanColumbia 23:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] dye and medicinal uses

I added quite a bit of information about use as a dye and in pre-modern medicine. The Civil War discussion of the choice of butternut as a nicnkame might deserve some POV attention; it seems okay to me, but I feel uncertain and welcome any changes/deletions that don't remove the general information. --Matthew K (talk) 17:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
