Jugular Advertising
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jugular Advertising is a New York-based advertising agency, founded in 2006. It has received attention in the national media for work relating to drug rehabilitation programs.
A 2006 campaign for an L.A. drug treatment center featured the face of the actor Chris Farley, accompanied by the headline, “It wasn’t all his fault” [1]. (Farley died in 1998 of a drug overdose). Although the campaign had been approved by Farley’s family, it received both criticism and praise, [2] culminating in Farley’s brother defending the ads on CNN. [3]
In 2007, Jugular received attention for a print ad, also for a drug treatment center, that read “Don’t Die Lindsay!” The ad was discussed on The View[4] and Fox News Channel’s Your World with Neil Cavuto.[5] Like the Chris Farley ad, it received mixed reactions.
