[edit] move to Josmer?

Should we move this page to Josmer Altidore, as it seems the press uses this name more? Smmurphy(Talk) 01:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

The article was originally located there (see history) before someone created a duplicate here like a year later. Eventually someone merged the original article over here. I never understood why that was done but do not feel strongly either way as long as we have redirects. However, it does seem like the original location was better than here as Jozy is not his actual name. --otduff t/c 13:36, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I believe the player has stated that "Jozy" is acceptable for formal use, and that he prefers it. François Metro (talk) 06:05, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was no consensus to move the page from Jozy Altidore to Josmer Altidore, per the discussion below (please remember that internet prevalence searches have shortcomings, that Wikipedia should be excluded from searches, and that phrases should be in quotes).   • Oppose - I oppose this move since google turns up double the hits for this title then for "Josmer Altidore." Also the press refers to him just as often if not more so as Jozy Altidore. --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (tαlk) 19:15, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Very Strong Oppose He is much better known as "Jozy"[1] than "Josmer"[2] as the included G results show (by a more than 2-1 margin). faithless (speak) 01:02, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Neutral - I think it is fine where it is as Jozy is probably more used in conversation. However, I never saw the problem with the article under Josmer either (provided Jozy linked over). It's not that big a deal, so just leave it alone. --otduff t/c 08:36, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
