Jovan Jovanov (Јован Јованов) is Macedonian singer and composer. In 2004, Jovan composed the winning song "Angel si ti" (You're an angel) for the Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest national pre-selection. Toše Proeski performed "Life," the english version of the song, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. At Skopje Fest 2007, Jovan and Maja Sazdanovska performed together with the song "1,2,3" which came in 4th place. On May 7th, 2007, Jovan released his first solo album titled "Na Moj Način" (My way).

Jovan Jovanov was born on 27.05 1981, his star sign is Gemini, and his sun sign is Cancer. He is a senior at the Music academy, graduating this year. His music desire, as well as his talent have been his foremost assets since he was very young. He was a part of the children choir ‘Zlatno slavejce’, and enrolled in the junior music school when he was five years old. He had his first stage performance on 26.06 1996, on ‘Tin Fest’ in Prilep, with his song ‘Frli ja cigarata’ (Throw The Cigarette), whose author was Jovan by himself. The next year, 10.10 1997 he had his first performance on a professional festival.

His ambition is to become a music hit-maker, as he is on the right way of reaching the goal. In may, the year 1998, he forms the teen music band ‘Magija’ (‘Magic’), (Jovan, Zoki, Damjan and Doni), and records his first songs ‘Otkaci se’ (‘Go away’) and ‘D.J’. Applies and competes on Makfest 1998, with the song ‘Magija’, where he realizes his first bigger success- wins the first prize of the audience, and the second prize on the International evening.

In the year 1998, ‘Magija’ gets the status of the most popular music band in the daily newspaper ‘Vecer’. On the national manifestation ‘Dvanaeset Velicestveni’ they won the best band award of the audience. The band ‘Magija’ has accomplished a few successful tours all over Macedonia, while popularity was growing, and there was no radio or any other music list where they were not on the top of the singles with their hits. On 12.10 1999, at the café ‘Stradivarius’, in the City Mall, Jovan had his band’s first music album promoted. The album is called ‘Pomisluvam na tebe’ (I Think Of You) and counts 12 compositions. On 17.10 1999, the popular band ‘Magija’ had their first solo concert, filling up the whole ‘Kale’ Hall. All the mediums were talking about their great performance as a real spectacle. On 03.02 2000 on the manifestation ‘Buba Mara’, ‘Magija’ was they awarded as the most popular music band in 1999. Later, on 24.02 2000 won the same award on ‘Dvanaeset Velicestveni’. Apart from composing songs for his band, Jovan Jovanov also creates songs for other talented singers. Jovan won the second reward on Skopje Festival, with the band ‘Tick-Tack’, and the song ‘Mojot zivot’ (My Life). In spring 2001, in one of his interviews, Jovan announces that the band ‘Magija’ is not going to exist any more. In the summer 2001, Jovan was working on forming and developing his own music studio in order to keep creating good quality singles for himself and other singer. The same year, Jovan leaves to Toronto- Canada in order to promote himself as an artist on the Canadian music Maker. After an unsucessful attempt to gain success and recognition in the Canadian music industry, few months later he returns to Skopje. He sets up his solo career and records his first solo single with a video, named ‘Da te imam samo tebe’ (To Have Only You), in his studio ‘Jovanovi’. On 10.10 2003, he takes part on Makfest’03 in Shtip, performing ‘Da te vidam pak’ (To See You Again), where he wins the third prize and a stage performance award.

On 02.02 2007, Jovan makes the video for his ballad ‘Vo pravo si’ (You’re Right), and announces that he was working on his new album where 14 compositions were going to be included. On 24.02 2007, performs the song ‘1, 2, 3...’ on the Eurovision Song Contest, with Maja Sazdanovska, and again, their song was one of the very favorites. On 24.02 2007 Jovan promoted his album ‘Na moj nacin’ (On My Way), and makes the video for his composition ‘Sega jas si zaminuvam’ (Now I’m Leaving), in cooperation with ‘Fabrika Production’. A promotion was done which had 500 guest who attended the event, the celebration of his 10 years music career. Getting his album done, he goes on working on None Nedelkovska’s new album. On 01.06 2007, ‘Premier Production’ presents the music album of Elvir Mekić, accomplished by Jovan Jovanov as a composer, and Elvir Mekić who wrote the lyrics. On 24 and 25.06 2007, Jovan had a performance on Budva 2007 and on 09 and 10.07 2007 took place on Herceg Novi ’07 on the debutant evening, composing a song for Bravo Band who won the third award. On Ohrid Fest, Jovan won the first jury award as a composer of the song sung by Elvir Mekić and Maja Sazdanovska.
