Yeah. I know. Real constructive. the_undertow talk 23:44, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. My thoughts exactly lol. Orane (talk) 02:41, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Just for the record, my edit summary was "Whatev." I was going to say something about internet police of nuns with rulers, but I though both too inappropriate. :P LaraLove 03:07, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
You know, I had a feeling that you were joking. I even had a witty response. But I guess it's too late to use it now. I have difficulties picking up on sarcasm, something that I need to work on :P.Orane (talk) 04:44, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Just practice telling jokes, I think you've given me one so far, in over two years. (Excluding the youtube link) That'll help you pick up on sarcasm. :P KOS | talk 04:47, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] mariah carey picture

first of all, the image i put is an album cover, which was already uploaded and used by wikipedia so there's no copy right issues here, second, the image i put represents Miss Carey better than 'i still believe video' and this image is taken from a video, which doesn't give it any priority over the cover of Miss Carey's album. and i want to note that the way her hair looks can only be seen on this video only, her make up too, thats why i think this image doesn't represent her well, however her album cover is used more and that image was published for the press for promotional reasons too. please do not change the picture i'm putting. if there's any problem or if i'm saying anything wrong please explain it to me in my talk page. thank you. [edit] Block of Jayjay47 (talk · contribs)

Just to let you know that I've blocked this user for 72 hours as they continued to upload copyrighted images without licenses or rationales in spite of your numerous warnings. WjBscribe 21:15, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Normally, I'd support the block, since he has ignored my warnings since the first time I approached him. But on this occasion, I'm curious to know why exactly he was blocked. He has only uploaded two new images sine the last time I warned him, and the only thing lacking were rationales (they had sources and template licensing). I haven't been on Wikipedia for a while due to school, but is it a blockable offense nowadays, considering that policies are continually updated, to block a user for failing to use rationals (he probably doesn't know how to use them)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Journalist (talkcontribs) 05:28, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
He uploaded more than two, did you check the ones that I deleted? There are two images that merely lacked rationales but a further 5 that had no copyright information at all [1]... WjBscribe 12:43, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Your link showed that he uploaded only five images after I warned him. I warned him on the 13th, and he uploaded five images after that— two on the 14th and three on the 15th, all of which had proper tags and sources (the html appears beside the images in the link that you gave me). The only thing they lacked were rationales, which he probably doesn't know how to provide. According to Image:Diamondcrimemob.jpg, which I restored, he even tagged the image and requested help with the licensing.
I believe the block to be unjustified. It's probably up by now, but if its not, I'm requesting that he be unblocked. He didn't necessarily follow my suggestion about not uploading any images (after all, I can't control him), but he did make an effort to provide proper source info. Somehow, when you were deleting his images, you stated that they lacked source and copyright info. But as Image:Diamondcrimemob.jpg indicates, that is not entirely the case.
This is just a huge misunderstanding. Orane (talk) 20:48, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nevermind

Disregard my last msg. His block expired, and he's at it again. And this time, he's being spiteful. Orane (talk) 23:53, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Erm, I'm confused - the page you restored (Image:Diamondcrimemob.jpg) has no license info at all - just the standard "The individual who uploaded this work found it on an unconfirmed website" label. That wasn't a specific tag chosen by him, it is added if someone says they don't know the copyright of the image on the drop down menu on the upload screen. I can't see how selecting that is any better than giving no license at all... Also, you only restored the image description, not the image itself... WjBscribe 01:01, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Beyonceirreplaceablesingle.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Beyonceirreplaceablesingle.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:34, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Orane can you help me with the "All by Myself" article? Till now it had a Celine Dion section but some people removed it. I have left my opinion on the talk page. Thanks. Max24 (talk) 18:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DFAU2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:DFAU2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A page you dealt with

I have just "stubbed" and left an OTRS notification on a page in which you have been fairly heavily involved. I have not changed the associated page protection, although I was a little surprised to see it indefinitely protected in the first place. While I sort through what's going on with that page and an associated OTRS case, I'd appreciate your cooperation in keeping the article fairly "stub"-ish. Thanks! - Philippe | Talk 06:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] PCD

Hi Journalist, you left a message on my talk page a couple of weeks ago regarding the the Pussycat Dolls. I don't know if you saw my response or not, which is here. Thanks! Acalamari 16:07, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for understanding, and no, you were not rude or fussy. :) Acalamari 16:51, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyvio?

Back in May 2007, you deleted Image:96946362in0.th.jpg as a copyvio. Would you consider Image:Pcdos4.jpg (from the same uploader) to also be one? Spellcast (talk) 07:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bye Bye (Mariah Carey song)

You might think I'm aghast at the article's restoration, but I'm not. My real concern was a sockpuppet circumventing community consensus. However, since the song has been released, it should give evidence of individual notability, which I will be looking for. I'm not a deletionist, I swear! :-) - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 12:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Jamaican Patois

Hi, you're probably confused by the IPA transcription used at Jamaican Patois. You should take a look at Help:IPA to give yourself an understanding of the International Phonetic Alphabet. The transcription system used at Jamaican Patois is phonemic, so that the word for swim is transcribed as /suim/ even though it's actually pronounced [sʷim]. The labialization of the /s/ is predictable entirely on phonological grounds (at least, according to Harry 2006). This edit is not accurate as you are confusing IPA transcription with English spelling. The way you've changed it, "the five birds" would be pronounced as "dee feevay beard." The transcription of "bird" as /bod/ is backed up theoretically by Frederic Cassidy in "Multiple Etymologies in Jamaican Creole" (American Speech vol 41(3)) on pages 212-213 where he says "English preconsonantal /r/ is regularly lost in Creole and the preceding /ə/ is represented, as here, by /o/, phonetically [ɵ]." Thus words like /doti/ ('dirty'), /puʃ uok/ (push work; 'irregular employment'), as well as /hoɹi/ ('hurry'). /bod/ is attested in Patrick (1995) on page 243:

guinea bird /gini bod/ n [DJE 1774, "obs"] African-born man or woman during and after slavery time (disdainful) (still in use in song known to Kumina groups in St. Thomas and to Maroons of Portland)...

I recommend that, before you alter the Jamaican Patois page, that you read up on the sources used and either familiarize yourself with the IPA or make a case in the talk page for some other transcription system. Also remember that Jamaican Patois is not Jamaican English. — Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 09:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Heya O

Hey Orane, I like the new user page. I just want to let you know that you wrote "His hobbies include going to the gym, and going to the gym." Dunno know if it was by mistake or not. Just wanted to let ya know buddy. :) Later! KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 23:59, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Beyonce

As the recent author of the article and a non-native English, I would like to ask your assistance in bringing it to GA, or possible FA. Could you highlight some offending grammars of the article? You can put your comments on the article's PR or on the talk page. Thank you very much. --Efe (talk) 05:07, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll wait. Thanks for the compliment; if you find some minor glitches on that article, just hit the edit button. I believe its not perfect, but a good one. =) BTW, please visit the talk page of Beyonce Knowles article because of the ongoing war about the main image. I will post comments there. See yah and thanks a lot. --Efe (talk) 02:52, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
FYI, B'Day is now a GA. --Efe (talk) 03:24, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Hello Orane. I think its fine to leave the lead clean. Anyway, its fully sourced below. About removing the two, they're not reliable. --Efe (talk) 03:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Favor? Can we just put it like that. I personally like that way. Anyway, if they demand to put an inline source directly on that passage (in FAC soon), I'll be happy to add them. --Efe (talk) 04:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, thank you very much. BTW, I am waiting for your comments on the article. --Efe (talk) 04:36, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Its lunch time here in Philippines. --Efe (talk) 05:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
hello there. can you please chech for Beyonce's "Deja Vu" if the prose and content is up for FAC? Thanks. --Efe (talk) 08:14, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] star for you

It is very noble of you to discuss the Celine Dion issue in ANI rather than use your administrative powers in the article. Hello from a fellow Wikipedian. Spevw (talk) 21:16, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

But, see this. You are basically being accused of gaming the system here, although that post could also fairly be described as another variant of "The Wrong Version".

How do you want to proceed? It doesn't look like you're convincing them on the talk page. Do you want more time? Or should we open an article RFC on this? Daniel Case (talk) 04:39, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pussycat Dolls template

Hi Journalist, you moved The Pussycat Dolls to the title it is today, Pussycat Dolls. In July of last year, I started a discussion on the template for the Pussycat Dolls. Would you mind giving your input there? Thank you. Acalamari 18:14, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
