[edit] Coast Mangement
Hi Josh, I disagree with some of the merge tags you've recently put on articles. For example - Riprap has other uses besides Coast Management (spelling?), such as biofilters, bioswales, dam spillways, drainage fields and drywells. The article doesn't cover all these uses yet, but it will eventually. Riprap doesn't belong exclusively in the Coast Management article. It merits its own article in other encyclopedias too.
I see you are new here and would urge you to go slowly with article merging. Happy editing! --Duk 18:46, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- Also, I changed you redirect of gabions from Coast Management to Gabion (there was already an article). Gabion shouldn't be merged into the Coast Management article either, since it is also a military fortification. --Duk 19:02, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image uploads
I tagged Image:Coast Mangement.png for you. All images need to be tagged or they get deleted. There is a list of image tags linked to the image upload page. For images that you create yourself the standard tag is {{GFDL}}.

- Thankyou very much with your message. Looking at it with more consideration I totaly agree with you, thanks for bringing it to my attention about RipRap, as at the time I didn't think of it other uses. Also thanks for picking up on the spelling. However, what is the purpose of a image tag and how do I categorise my articles?
-
- The image tags identify the copyrigth status of the image. User made images will usually be an open source licence, like the GFDL. The curley brackets, {{, are template notation, so you add you tag, inside the curley brackets, and the page is rendered with a copyright banner. See Image copyright tag It's simple once you've done a few :) -- Duk 19:08, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template:User Socialist
Hi Joshlk!
Please don't make highly-visible changes to a userbox template without discussing the changes first. You're changing the user page of about a dozen people by doing that - and you don't even use the userbox yourself. Myself and other Socialist Wikipedians will happily debate the design of this userbox if you like (perhaps on the template's talk page) but probably only if you're a user of it yourself (otherwise it'll be a very dreary political conversation about the merits and delimitations of Socialism, communism, liberalism etc etc yawn etc). Thanks very much! ➨ ❝REDVERS❞ 14:58, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] UK template
[duplicate from my talk page]
Yeah I did think that, but to implement either would require a light shade in order to have legible text. Furthermore, it the box was blue then it (IMHO) implies Scotland, while if it is read it implies England. Either way it is unsatisfactory. Gold seemed like a suitable compromise... think Royal Standard... Deano 21:51, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
