[edit] IFC

If you would like to see the Jose Mojica Marins films, IFC occassionally plays them late at night as part of its uncut Grindhouse feature. Will dwane 01:52, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Distinct articles ?

Shouldn't Zé do Caixao and José Mojica Marins be the subjects of two different articles ? One is an actual person, the other a fictional character. Moreover, Marins has made films that did not feature the Zé do Caixao character. Wedineinheck (talk) 17:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree. The article needs to be titled Jose Mojica Marins with Ze do Caixao directed to the Marins page. Ze is a character and alter-ego that he used in some of his films, certainly not all.Mike Presson (talk) 05:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
If the character is notable in its own right, two separate articles might be the way to go (didn't check). But if not, the name of the person is the right title, not the character, typically. Use the "move" or "rename" tab to just move this article and its talk to the correct name. If there is a redirect from the name TO the article already in place, (as it appears there is, see José Mojica Marins) ask an admin to do it for you. You can do so formally at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion or just informally (I don't see this as very controversial) by asking any admin (including me if you like), after a consensus is developed here. A bit more discussion by new parties might be a good thing, perhaps mention it to some of the folk that have edited this article in the past. Hope that helps. ++Lar: t/c 13:28, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
  • A new article on the character should be well-referenced to avoid having the content being merged back into this article. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 07:31, 27 May 2008 (UTC))

[edit] any objections?

I will request the renaming of this article with a redirect if there are no disagreements. Mike P (talk) 05:53, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll do it for you if you like, just let me know. The question in my mind is whether it needs splitting into person/character articles instead, though. ++Lar: t/c 02:48, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Lar. Fuhghettaboutit has done this for me. As a new editor and contributor I am sure I will be asking for your assistance again soon. Mike P (talk) 16:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
