Joseph Wells & Sons Fireworks is a fireworks manufacturing company founded in 1837.
[edit] Overview
[edit] History
The company was founded by Joseph Wells, who was originally an explosives lighterman on the River Thames in London, England. The company established a reputation for the manufacture and display of the finest quality fireworks.[citation needed]
They were bought by a pyrotechnics company, Pyrojunkies Ltd who have retained the brand of Wells Fireworks. The ownership of Wells Fireworks has therefore remained in the Dartford area of Kent.[citation needed] The actual manufacture of Wells Fireworks has now moved to Sussex. The remains of a number of buildings from the former factory can be seen in the Joyce Green area of Dartford.[citation needed] Due to development in the area, these historic buildings face an uncertain future.
