[edit] Joseph B. Touma
American physician, inventor, professor of medicine and business man, Born May 27, 1938 in Damascus, Syria and moved the the United States in 1963 and settled in Huntington, West Virginia since 1971. He has invented 15 medical devices in ear surgery, published several books and articles in the field and produced dozens of medical education videos presentation and lectures. He is also known for his rare historical collection of medical and surgical instruments presented at Touma Museum of Medicine
In 1998, He and his wife Omayma Tayar has contributed "The Touma Near Eastern Gallery" with over 500 pieces of ceramics, glasswork, rugs, manuscripts, paintings, metalwork, weaponry and armor. One hundred pieces were selected to form "The Allure of the East" collection and toured the country for a three year period.
He is also the founder and president of Touma Ear Foundation, Inc., a non-profit foundation dedicated to public education and financial assistance to the hearing impaired.
