Joseph Shivers

Joseph Clois Shivers, Jr. was an American chemist who lived in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Shivers spent much of the nineteen fifties developing Spandex while working for DuPont. He was awarded the prestigious Olney Medal for Achievement in Textile Chemistry for his work.[1]
