Joseph Gilgun

Joseph Gilgun (born 9 March 1984 Chorley, Lancashire, England) is a British actor known for playing the fictional character Eli Dingle in ITV's Emmerdale and Jamie Armstrong in Coronation Street although he has also appeared in the Channel 4 television series Hollyoaks and Shameless. Gilgun attended school at Rivington County Primary, Rivington, and went on to Southlands High School, Chorley, before studying acting at The Laine Johnson Theater School and Oldham Theater Workshop.
Gilgun's first performance as a film actor is as Woody in This Is England, a semi-autobiographical feature film written and directed by Shane Meadows, which was released in the UK on the 27 April, 2007.
Joseph also starred alongside fellow Emmerdale actors in Ghosthunting with..., hosted by Yvette Fielding, in which the cast were taken to three separate locations to search for evidence of paranormal activity.
