Josh White with acoustic guitar. Black and white photo taken in 1945.

The photo is an 8"x10" PR photo paid for by Josh White for his own use, and was not shot by and did not appear in a newspaper or magazine. The photo was probably taken at the Café Society nightclub in New York City's Greenwich Village (the first integrated nightclub in the United States). The name of the photographer (now deceased) is unknown, but attorneys have stated that this photo is legally controlled by the Estate and the Estate Manager of The Estate of Josh White (Sr.) (Douglas A. Yeager Productions, Ltd.).

The photo may be used for any purpose, provided that credit be given to the photo owner, The Estate of Josh White (Sr.) and the Josh White Archives. Photo courtesy of Douglas A. Yeager Productions, Ltd., 300 West 55th Street, Suite # 15E, New York, New York 10019.
