Jorhat Municipal Board is formed on the year 1909. The first chairman of Jorhat municipal Board is Playfair who became in charge from 3-2-1911 to 2-3-1917. The present Municipal office is at Unnayan Bhavan Complex, 2nd Floor, Opposite SBI, Jorhat.
