Jorge Labarga is currenlty a Judge for the 15th Circuit Court in Palm Beach County, Florida. He is notable because he was the judge who refused a new recount during the 2000 U.S. Presidential election. He refused the descrepency on the grounds that the Constitution stated that an election had to be held everywhere on the same day, not just in one area.
[edit] Education
- Labarge received his Bachelors degree from the University of Florida. He also received his Juris Doctorate from this institution as well in 1979. After Law School he became an Assistant Public Defender. In 1996, Governor Lawton Chiles appointed him a Circuit Court Judge.[1]
