Jordan Hospital is a hospital located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Founded in 1901, it is today the largest hospital in the Southern region of the South Shore. Jordan is an acute care, 150-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving 12 towns in Plymouth and Barnstable counties.[1] It contains more than 30 departments, programs and services. Jordan Hospital is an affiliate of Jordan Health Systems which includes Cranberry Hospice, Jordan Health and Wellness Center and Affiliated Medical Practice of Jordan Hospital, the hospital’s physician group.

Jordan hospital is in the top 2% in the nation in terms of nursing. The American Nurses Credentialing Center recognized Jordan Hospital with a Magnet designation. It order to become Magnet certified the hospital must value the contribution of nurses, have educational support for nurses within the facility, maintain high quality of patient care, evidence-based practice and a leadership structure that encourages nursing input into patient care decisions. This designation represents the “gold standard” in nursing practice. Magnet hospitals consistently outperform their peers in recruiting and retaining nurses, resulting in increased stability in patient care systems. In these organizations, nurses often perform at peek levels.
