Jonny Porkpie is a New York City-based writer, director, and performer in neo-burlesque. So called for his pork pie hat, Jonny creates and hosts monthly theme-based burlesque shows as part of his production company, Pinchbottom. His work has been touted in New York Magazine [1] as the "best burlesque" [2] in the City. He has of late been highlighted as a pivotal player in New York City's burlesque renaissance in media covering the phenomenon [3]. Porkpie's own Web site [4] states that he is running for Burlesque Mayor of New York City.
Little is known about the true identity of Jonny Porkpie, even as he gains more and more prominence on the New York arts scene. Some evidence suggests that he is romantically linked to Nasty Canasta, a fixture in the City's burlesque circuit. One source states that he is an Ivy League graduate who is of Dutch/Jewish ancestry, and is a member of an old theatrical family.
More information can be found at the Pinchbottom Web site [5].
