Dr. Jonathan Wright is the Medical Director of Tahoma Clinic in Renton, Washington, where he also practices medicine. He graduated from Harvard University (A.B. 1965) and went on to study at the University of Michigan where he received his medical degree in 1969. Wright is widely acclaimed as one of the leading alternative and life extension physicians practicing in the USA.[citation needed] Wright and his colleague, Alan Gaby, M.D., have been building an archive of works on natural healing science published since 1920.

After completing his residency at the Group Health Hospital in Seattle, Washington, Dr Wright founded the Tahoma Clinic, which focuses on disease prevention and treatment by natural biochemical and bioenergetic means. The Tahoma Clinic is staffed with medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, nutritionists, allergists nursing and scheduling personnel.
In 1982, Dr. Wright developed the use of bio-identical estrogens, and was the first to use DHEA in private practice.[citation needed] He originated successful natural treatment for elimination of childhood asthma[citation needed] and D-Mannose treatment for E coli[citation needed] UTI, and discovered cobalt's effect on estrogen detoxification.[citation needed]
Wright and his colleague, Alan Gaby, M.D., have been building an archive of natural healing science which includes nearly every major study on the subject ever published in over 350 medical journals over the past 35 years, plus every pertinent study published in 50 major journals since 1920.
He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University.[2]

Wright is a board member of various organizations, such as the American Preventive Medical Association (APMA) and International College of Advanced Longevity Medicine (ICALM), and participates in multiple health care associations, including the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and American Academy for Advancement in Medicine.

Wright has written or co-authored eleven books, selling over 1.1 million copies with two texts achieving best selling status[3][citation needed]; Book of Nutritional Therapy and Guide to Healing with Nutrition. Dr. Wright writes Nutrition and Healing, a monthly newsletter emphasizing nutritional medicine in medical practice.

Many of Johnathon Wright's controversial practices have lead to national coverage. One such incident occurred in 1992 when his clinic was raided by local police and the FDA because of alleged "illegal substance usage". According to the search warrant obtained by FDA, the "illegal substances" included preservative-free single dose vitamin B-complex injection, other vitamins, and herbal extracts. Despite two FDA-instigated grand jury investigations in three years, no indictments were ever returned. The case was dropped in 1995. The local police chief stated at a hearing of the King County (Washington)Council that in the future, his department would read any requests for assistance from FDA with a great deal more care.

Wright also works as a lecturer, speaking on varied topics including nutritional medicine, natural hormone replacement therapies for men and women, the natural treatment of cardiovascular diseases, asthma, diabetes, the use of D-mannose for bladder infection, the health benefits of Vitamin D (including correct usage and laboratory testing) as well as many other topics.
