John. Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. Hope you enjoy editing here. Regarding Eddie Irvine, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, motorsport's world governing body, defines driver nationality at international level by the passport held by the driver. Irvine raced under a British passport and is shown in all F1 race results as a UK driver. The Union Flag was raised at podiums where he appeared. See [www.formula1.com] for example.

I see you haven't edited here for very long, so you may not be aware of something all the three revert rule - reverting another user's changes more than twice in 24 hours is basically forbidden and can result in you being blocked from editing. You've actually already reverted changes three times in the last 24 hours. When there is a disagreement like this, the best thing to do is to discuss it with other editors on the article's talk page (see talk:Eddie Irvine). This particular issue has been discussed at length already and a consensus reached. A consensus can always be changed of course - If you have new information and can persuade those interested that the article should be worded differently, then please take the discussion to the talk page.
