Jonathan Cuffe is the creator of a new business model being tried in London that encompasses what major companies do, and often spend huge amounts of money doing, but applies it to the smaller business model. It has beed called the R.S. model as it has been given a "Renegade Scientist of South London" award for 'new thinking' before it had even been given a name. In principle the model involves streamlining as many aspects of a business from the start. For example if you wanted to run a company in the service industry why not start three of similar names, or under one group name, and streamline the phone system and e-mails such that each person is doing their job but in three different industries. The money that is saved should go to the extra advertising, and with three things to advertise, not one, you should find most advertisers willing to barter. Jonathan is a past student of UCL in London, where he studied Biochemical Engineering, and went to Downside School near Bath. A current project is London Independent Languages, [1], which is an Interpreter and Translator service based in South London. His particular interest in this company, other than financial, is to see the effect of pressurising the market as a minnow as opposed to market forces from the giants in the market - via offering huge reductions on costs that an established company would not be able to compete with - mainly due to administration costs. This has been called the Reverse Pressure model (R.P. model) and is based upon a his original R.S. model.
