The remains of Mulberry 'B' — the British Mulberry Harbour — constructed at Arromanches on the Normandy coast as part of the D-Day landings and Operation Overlord. In the foreground can be seen a number of the 'Beetle' pontoons that supported the 'Whale' piers, which have been left marooned on the beach. Behind, on the horizon, are some of the remaining 'Phoenix' concrete caissons that formed the harbour breakwaters.
