I just created this account in order to look at the current
Sign in / create account
page and see what messages are provided to new users. It aint much.

When they create an account, do new users know that contributions to Wikipedia are GFDL?

Maybe when they register, they should have to activate a check box that says, "I know that contributions to Wikipedia are licensed under the GFDL".
