[edit] Merge
I agree that "Johnny Kelley" should be merged, but get the right article: it should be merged with John A. Kelley and not John J. Kelley. --Pjmorse 22:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Done. It was a duplicate article, and I've just copied +pasted the info from the other that wasn't in this one. Feel free to tidy it up were necessary. The other article now redirects here. Lugnuts 13:22, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mix-up?
I think some of the information about Kelley Sr. credits him with achievements of Kelley Jr.--particularly the 1959 Pan Am Games marathon championship. Kelley Sr. was 52 in 1959; is it possible that he actually won that race as the article states? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.86.137.48 (talk) 03:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Good catch. Not only highly unlikely, but not mentioned in the cited obituaries, nor in any other literature I have seen. This looks like a mistake more than a mix-up with Kelley Jr., as I have yet to find evidence that the latter was the Chicago games gold medal winner either. I have removed all mention of the Pan Am. games in the Kelley Sr. article, and will not add same to the Kelley Jr. article unless reliable sourcing turns up.
