Can we get some more information on the relationship & what Edward Nettlefold did? John's son Joseph went into engineering and ran the foundry, son Frederick became chairman, son Edward did what? Is this the one that died in 1878 before Nettlefolds Ltd was founded? The only Edward I can see in the 1881 census was a junior-looking 25y.o. 'screwmaker' living at Edgebaston with his 22y.o. brother Hugh, son of widow Frances. An Obit. in The Times Apr 13, 1909 describes an Edward N (1855-1909) of Harborne Hall, grandson of John Sutton N. and son of late Edward N. who was MD of Nettlefolds & then had a seat on board of GKN & various railway & banking directorships. Could this be who you mean? Ephebi 11:17, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
