Talk:John Oates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] John Oates sings on most of Hall & Oates albums.
In response to someone changing the introductory paragraph to say the John Oates, "is an American musician and producer best known as the non-singing half of successful duo Hall & Oates." FYI: John Oates sings on all of Hall & Oates albums. Sometimes, he sings whole songs solo on their albums. Yes, they aren't the big ones, but he is almost always singing harmony or background too. His voice is distinctly different then Daryl Hall's. Now if this said "mustachioed-half", I would have been fine with it. ha ha. I am changing it back to the original version. - Antmusic 17:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Birth name?
Is "John William Oates" really not his name anymore, as the article currently implies? Most people go by their first name and their last name, and that doesn't imply that they've entirely given up their middle name. If nobody can present some evidence on this issue, I'm just going to change it so the intro just starts with John William Oates. john k 03:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
