[edit] Breaking News

The AP is reporting that Vice Adm. Mike McConnell will be named the next national intelligence director. (that has to be the most thankless job in the country)—Slipgrid 18:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not a cabinet official

The info box being used here is Infobox US Cabinet official. The Director of National Intelligence is not a cabinet official, nor a cabinet rank member of President's Executive Branch. See the official list at the White House web site and see also United_States_Cabinet. - Thaimoss 13:39, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sept 10, 2007 Comments

Should McConnell's comments to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee be included in this article? He falsely claimed that the new FISA law was responsible for a recently foiled terrorism plot in Germany [1]. Several Congressmen wrote a letter to McConnell to inquiring about this (and other things) [2]. I have read that McConnell has corrected the record, but I can not find a valid source. He has corrected the record; see press release dated Sep 12 2007. - WilsonjrWikipedia (talk) 01:51, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
