Talk:John Harris (critic)

dude's a racist
It's not a matter of whether or not he's a racist, it's about achieving objectivity in an encyclopaedia. Don't falsify what others have said. Whoever's doing this probably has a blog or livejournal: if you want to demonise people, do it there. RobinCarmody 13 March 2007, 17:03 GMT
objectively dude's a racist
- I've only read "cool britannia: britpop, blair..." which I thought was fantastic. I cant remember anything racist from that book at least! Where has he been accused of being a racist (apart from here)? /Marxmax 22:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
The Last Party has been criticised because of its focus on guitar bands (perceived to be the preserve of white musicians) rather than dance music. If you have a large chip shop on your shoulder, you could interpret this as racism. Personally, I think it's a bit like going to the Grand National and complaining because you're scared of horses. Anyway, what I came here to say was: I've seen references to a book by Harris entitled Britpop!: Cool Britannia and the Spectacular Demise of English Rock. I presume this is simply The Last Party under different colours. Does anyone know? US edition, perhaps? Drella Melmoth 12:24, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
