[edit] Birthday Note

Many on-line and other sources list John as being born about 1728. This comes from interpreting the monument at his grave. It notes his date of death, and says that he died in his LXVII year of age. (1795 minus 67 = 1728). I do have two sources for the date and ancestry used here. Most of his family gave the name as DeHart in one word, but John used two. I've used De Hart in Wikipedia, to match the Continental Congress Journals and other sources. Also please note that John Hart who signed the Declaration of Independence for New Jersey is a separate person. Lou I 21:15, 1 May 2004 (UTC)
