At the time of John Quitman's death, there indeed were some who believed his death resulted from deliberately poisoning. I noticed that my edit concerning this was unceremoniously deleted (perhaps by members of the vast Masonic conspiracy to cover up the circumstances of his death?). Joking aside, I am working on finding sources that indicating the controversy over his death. I believe it adds an interesting dimension to Quitman and should be included in his biography.
