[edit] More history

I'd like to know more about Itten's life – like what happened to him when the Nazis shut down the Bauhaus? Where did he go? What did he do? Maybe include some pictures of his work, etc. – Morganfitzp 18:39, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism of Itten?

I happen to really enjoy the Bauhaus movement, its art, and its followers. Mondrian, Moholy-Nagy and Kandinsky are all artists that I like or admire, and all were influenced by Itten. But the Bauhaus has been closed for 74 years, and there has been considerable backlash against modernism in that time.

I would expect there to have been competing theories of color which emerged during that time, or at least criticism of Itten. I can't find any, and this article doesn't seem to list any.

I'd like to read Itten's work, but I don't feel right simply taking the first name that I come across and taking his work as holy writ. superlusertc 2007 December 10, 16:51 (UTC)
