Johnson Holmquist Equation of State

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In solid mechanics, the Johnson-Holmquist Equation of state is used to model the behaviour of ceramics. What makes ceramics unique is that they have high compressive strength but low tensile strength. As such they are comparatively better than metals on the basis of weight.[1]
