Johnny Exantus (born November 24, 1989 in Haiti) is a soccer player who currently plays for Red Bull New York's Under-18 team in the United States. He attends Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey.
[edit] Club career
He is known as Johnny X and received national publicity in the United States during the 2006 pre-season because although he has played in the club's youth system (as the MetroStars), he would be subject to the MLS SuperDraft if he signed with Major League Soccer (MLS)[1]. After the 2006 season, MLS modified its discovery and developmental rules to allow teams to develop players such as Exantus through their youth programs.
He scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the 2005 Super Y-League championship.[citation needed]
[edit] International career
The Haitian-born Exantus has experience with the Haitian Under-17 national team, scoring two goals on his debut at the age of 14 and leading Haiti in goals in FIFA U-17 World Championship qualifying.[citation needed]
