Johnny Cupcakes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Johnny Cupcakes is an indie clothing brand first created in 2001. It was founded by Johnny Earle, who was then touring with the metalcore band On Broken Wings. This clothing line, which started out as a t-shirt line sold out of the back of Earle's car, uses cupcakes as the prominent feature on the merchandise, often replacing iconic symbols with cupcakes. The line's insignia is a skull and crossbones, with a cupcake instead of a skull. The Johnny Cupcakes line includes shirts, shorts, sweaters, jewelry, undergarments, belts and pins. Earle hopes to expand Johnny Cupcakes by adding a shoe line and watches.[citation needed] The primary store is located on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts, and is decorated in a bakery theme. There is also a store in Hull, Massachusetts, Earle's hometown,as well as a new store opening on August 2,2008 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California. This line is considered to have a sort of cult following.
