The John William Draper House, also known as Draper Park, is located on US 9 in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, USA. It was the home of John William Draper, 1811-1882. His son Henry Draper, 1837-1882, created an observatory on the estate.[3] It was here that he made astrophotography history, taking the first recognizable photographs of the Moon through a telescope in 1840.
The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1975.[1][4] It is located in the middle of a small park, and is currently used as both the offices of the Hastings Historical Society and a museum.
