John Troyer (3 February 1753 – 28 February 1842) was a generally feared religious figure in the Long Point region. Troyer is widely regarded[weasel words] to possess black magic.
In 1922, the Niagara Falls Evening Review reported on his attempts to find a stash of gold, dumped in the area centuries before, by a fur trader named David Ramsay.
