John Stewart Muller

John Stewart Muller (born August 6, 1977) is an American motion picture and television commercial director. He was born in Washington D.C., then raised in Kansas City, Missouri where he attended the Pembroke Hill School, before moving to Los Angeles, California to study film at Loyola Marymount University. His debut feature, Lie to Me, premiered to a sold out crowd at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 26, 2008 and received an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking" by the festival's jury.

A founding partner of Steele Films and a multi-talented and highly skilled director, John began making films at the age of seven. Experimental, artistic and incredibly personal, his past work has helped hone his creative skills allowing him to pursue a career as a highly-recognized commercial director. Raised in Kansas City and educated at Loyola Marymount University’s film program in Los Angeles, John officially founded Steele Films in the summer of 2000. Since then, John has been directing award-winning television spots around the country for an exclusive, yet diverse clientele. With over eight thrilling years in commercials, John continues to focus on features, completing a number of original screenplays with his partner, producer Laura Boersma. Having just completed his first commercial feature, Lie to Me, John continually strives to create compelling, challenging and inspiring work both in commercials and features.
