John Stanley Gardiner

John Stanley Gardiner FRS (24 January 1872 - 28 February 1946) was a British zoologist and oceanographer.
He was Professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy at Cambridge 1909-1937. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1908, and won its Darwin Medal in 1944. He won the Linnean Medal in 1936.
