John Southgate

The Very Reverend Dr John Southgate is a former Dean of York in the Church of England; holding this post up until 1994 when he was replaced by the Very Revd. Dr Raymond Furnell.

Dr Southgate was Dean of York when York Minster caught fire in 1984[1], and he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of York in 1989.[2]
