John Pitman

John Pitman (born November 18, 1940) is a television reporter and interviewer best known for his work on the BBC documentary series Man Alive.

He was born in Whitecroft, Gloucestershire and attended Cirencester and then Bexhill-on-Sea Grammar Schools. He began his career in journalism with the Gloucestershire Echo and Brighton Argus newspapers.

He is also notable for narrating the series The Big Time, an edition of which launched the career of the singer Sheena Easton and he presented a follow up programme Sheena Easton - the Making of a Star.
