John Martin Fischer

John Martin Fischer is currently a distinguished professor of philosophy at the University of California Riverside.
While his works centers primarily on free will and moral responsibility, where he is particularly noted as a primary proponent of semi-compatibilism (the idea that moral responsibility can be squared with determinism but free will cannot be)[1], he also has worked on the metaphysics of death and philosophy of religion.
He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford and his Ph.D. from Cornell.
