John Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis

John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis was born on 19 May 1952. He is the son of George William Herbert, 7th Earl of Powis and Hon. Katharine Odeyne de Grey.

He married Marijke Sofia Guther, daughter of Maarten Nanne Gutter and Woutertje Bouw, in 1977. They had four children:

• Jonathan Nicholas William Herbert, Viscount Clive (b. 1979)
• The Lady Stephanie Moira Herbert (b. 1982)
• The Lady Samantha Julie Esther Herbert (b. 1988)
• The Hon. Alexander Herbert (b. 1994)
