From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Edmund Califano (1862-1946) was an American artist who worked in California. Although primarily known as a landscape artist, two of his noted paintings, "The Love Letter" [1] and "A Good Fortune", feature women as subjects. He received showings in Chicago and New York. His paintings capture both the spirit and the lushness of the age in which he worked.
