John D. Shearer

John D. Shearer (born 1980) is a freelance photographer. His work has been published in numerous publications including Rolling Stone Magazine, Spin Magazine, Paste Magazine, Signal to Noise Magazine, Teen People Magazine, People.com and VanityFair.com.

John graduated from Ball State University in 2003 with a B.A. in Photojournalism and Video Production. While his work has mostly centered around still photography, he has directed and produced a handful of short films as well. Most recently, his film The Jingo Factor which he wrote, directed and produced headlined the 2004 Oranje festival in Indianapolis. The Jingo factor was an experimental, propaganda film that centered around events directly after September 11, 2001. Nuvo Newsweekly raved that the film was "the best screening of the night..." John's work is represented by BEImages - he is an associate member of the American Society of Media Photographers.
