John C. Brodhead

John Curtis Brodhead (October 27, 1780 - January 2, 1859) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Modena, New York, Brodhead attended the district schools. He engaged in mercantile and agricultural pursuits. Sheriff of Ulster County 1825-1828.
Brodhead was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-second Congress (March 4, 1831-March 3, 1833). He was not a candidate for reelection in 1832.
Brodhead was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1837-March 3, 1839). He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of the Navy (Twenty-fifth Congress). He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1838. He resumed mercantile and agricultural pursuits. He died in Modena, New York, January 2, 1859. He was interred in Modena Rural Cemetery.
