John Barham

John Barham is an English pianist, composer, arranger, producer and educator.
Born in London, and educated at London’s Royal College of Music and London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), he has played and / or collaborated with a number of significant figures in the entertainment industry, including George Harrison, John Lennon, Ravi Shankar, Otto Preminger, Katharine Hepburn, Yehudi Menuhin, Roger Daltrey, Badfinger, Andre Previn, Jonathan Miller, Joe Massot , Alejandro Jodorowsky, Sir Leon Goossens, Elton John, Kiki Dee, Quintessence, Jon Lord, Phil Spector, Yoko Ono and Billy Preston.
His association with George Harrison spanned many decades and included the orchestration of Harrison’s most successful work All Things Must Pass, as well as Wonderwall and Living In The Material World.
Having studied Indian music Barham released a recording with Indian sarod player Aashish Khan (“Jugalbandi” – Elektra Records), and his Indian compositions have been featured on BBC documentaries by the Indian director Manjira Dhatta.
His notable students include William Chapman Nyaho.
