[edit] History

JOHAN BRUYNEEL CYCLING ACADEMY is an international cycling development and showcase effort that provides training and racing opportunities to young talented (mainly American) riders and is an alternative path for those cyclists to the ranks of the European peloton. It finds talent with a network of coaches, pros, industry professionals and several federations all over the world.

Once these riders are screened for compatibility and accepted, they move to JBCA's European location in Hertsberge, Belgium, and start living the life of a European bike racer. This takes place within JBCA's well-crafted and supervised program.

For American riders, the JBCA offers also winter-training camps at altitude in Albuquerque, New Mexico

It's there in the harsh, unforgiving race conditions of the Kermesse and inter-club events riders' experience the same proving grounds as Europe's greatest pro racers. And, if they are good enough, as they race they'll catch the eyes of the pro-team directors that attend these races to find the next stars.

JBCA has already shined under this attention and had participants in its program move to the pros.

[edit] 2008

The link between the JBCA and Astana Director Johan Bruyneel strengthened the relationship of the Academy and Fuji Bicycle Corporation to supply the team with bicycles. Moerman also affirmed sponsorship with SRAM, the makers of the new sub 2,000 gram component group, Red
