A newspaper advertisement from 1844 announcing a musical event organised by Johann Gottfried Piefke, a Prussian conductor and composer of military music. The newspaper is unknown, but in all likeliness it is a local newspaper from Frankfurt (Oder) where Piefke lived and where the event was scheduled to take place.

And this is what the text says (a loose translation):

Advertisement for a Concert

The first one in the series of subscription-based concerts arranged by me will take place, if the weather permits, on Friday, May 31st, in the garden of Grattenauer's spa, commencing at 4:30 a.m. In making this advertisement, I would like to announce that virtuoso violinist v. Küstner will perform parts of Prume's concerto "Die Melancolie" and a concerto by Beriot in the first part of the event whereas in the second part the "Sonate pathetique" by Beethoven will be performed. The admission tickets will be sent to subscribers within the next few days. Those gentlemen who have had no opportunity to subscribe but who nevertheless would like to participate in the programme are kindly asked to give me notice. Frankfurt an der Oder, May 24, 1844. Piefke
