I uploaded the first image, which I found on Flickr.com

The second image was already on Wikimedia Commons, and I merely linked to it using the Image tag.

Compare the image pages and read the description and license tag.

The second image is better because it has been verified by wikipedia editors as coming from flickr and being correctly licensed. I am not sure that I chose the correct license for this image when I uploaded it to Wikipedia. (I chose CC 3.0).

Also, I see now that it is better to upload images to WMCommons if the are free to use, because then all WM projects can find use them from there.

I will remove the version of the image that i uploaded to wikipedia after I show this to my class.
